I thought the rental car was at the airport, but it was at a car dealership 29 min away from the airport!!!! They also gave me an SUV instead of a midsize car that I reserved.

The rental wasn't in the terminal that we landed at and had to transfer to a different terminal to pick it up. After a long 9+ hour flight with children and luggage this wasnt ideal. The rental was not equipped with GPS/Satnav and as I was coming internationally my cell phone didn't work so this lead to some difficulties getting around initially. The employee was very friendly.

Pickup and drop off were fine. The vehicle itself was ok, though it has some expected dings and scratches, plus the vehicle’s ride comfort at highway speeds is rough, possibly a tire balance issue. The biggest problem is that I rented a Polestar EV without realizing that the availability of fast charging stations is very low. This requires planning your trip around finding and charging the EV, which is not how I wanted to spend my vacation. When fast chargers become as plentiful and available as gas stations, only then will EV’s be viable rental options.

The car we received wasn't nicely cleaned inside. Not the car we expected. Didn't seem to run very well. Had 40,000 + miles already on it. The tire pressure warning light came on while driving. Need better signage at Spanish Spring The Villages.

They left me stranded on the side of the turnpike for 2 hours, roadside service canceled on me 4 times. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff at the Orlando Airport center. Avoid Hertz at all cost!
Lady in the check out garage was extremely rude, the rest of the staff was very easy to work with.

Pickup took two hours - not enough staff for volume of renters. Poor signage to get to cars. Drop off - no one to accept car. Not sure what to do. Leave key and walk away? Later a bill arrived by email charging us for filling the gas tank. A scam? We had just filled the gas tank before drop off. Called to complain. At this point not resolved yet. Avis gets a poor review this time.

Worst car retrial experience I’ve ever had. Avis couldn’t have made it worse if they actively tried.
Reserved a car, settled for a pickup with 3/4 tank of gas, dirty windows and no cruise control. Told we would have to wait possibly a long time for a car. We already stood in line a hour. Not happy. Return at RSW went well.

Crowdstrike outage cancelled our flight so we were unable to pick up our car. Dollar refused to refund us. We’re very disappointed.

We had several issues. They try to upswell you when you get there. They told us the car we had rented had only enough room for two bags. Online it said it fit 5 bags. Then they said for $400 more for 10 days we could get the car that fit our luggage. We refused and said we would keep our original premium rental. We went to garage and they gave us a tiny sports car for 5 people. We made it work to save the extra money but it was very uncomfortable. We will not rent there again.

We declined the insurance because we explained that we already had insurance through our visa. After ,36 hours of non sleep we did not read the fine print and trusted the integrity of the salesperson. Unfortunately she added the insurance and we were charged 279.92 for our 8 day rental. We feel we were taken advantage of by this person. Because if this we would not recommend this company to anyone and our review will not be favorable.

Pick up at the Orlando Airport was painful. There was an extremely long line with only one counter service employee processing customers. The counter agent was condescending, rude, relentless in trying to get customers to purchase additional items, and unpleasant with me and with all of the women I observed him interacting with in my wait. Compared to the rental experiences I’ve had in Europe and recently in Seattle; this felt like I’d gone back in time 20 years. I felt embarrassed for all the foreign tourists in-line thinking this is what our country is like.

Beware the insurance scam. Declined the coverage on kayak and they still added it back in at the rental counter. Had to fight with Thrifty to remove it.

My experience with Thrifty and Kayak was beyond disappointing. I booked a one way trip with a minivan from the Orlando airport as our family’s flight was canceled. After waiting in a long line, the agent (who refused to provide his name) told us that there were no more minivans available and that they only had four seat sedans. I reiterated that we booked a minivan because there were six members of our family. He said we could probably seat five in the sedan, but then became very rude and borderline hostile when I said that wouldn’t be possible because there were six of us. I asked if he could tell me the cost of a second vehicle and he said he couldn’t. Additionally, prior to arriving at the airport a family member had called both Kayak and Thrifty to confirm we’d be able to modify the drop off location from Boston to the Savannah airport and was told that was possible at the rental counter. When I asked the man at the rental counter he said that was not possible and that I had to modify this with Kayak. I, as well as family members tried calling Kayak multiple times from the counter and the calls were either dropped or we were told to use the website. When we went to the Kayak website to modify the drop off location, we all kept getting errors saying the reservation couldn’t be found. Needless to say, the experience was incredibly stressful, unfriendly, and inoperative for our family’s needs. I am still working on receiving a refund for the money I was charged for insuring the car I never rented. Our family spent nearly $1000 on an Uber to drive the 4 hours we needed the car rental for - a cost that should be reimbursed by Kayak. What an incredibly unacceptable experience trying to use Thrifty through Kayak - a family of six (including children) were left stranded with no options for a resolution.

I specifically told the agent no CDW insurance. He added it so my $219 price you gave me was $545. Didn’t notice until the next day. You can’t call them and you can’t fix it. $10.55 per gallon if you don’t have time to put gas in the car. I feel totally taken. I looked at reviews and I am one of many - the overcharges seem pretty much how they do business. I will never rent from Thrifty again, ever.

Pick up process was frustrating. The office is understaffed. Even during slow travel period there was very long wait and agent incorrectly insisted that it was “state law” that I had to pay for their insurance coverage which nearly doubled the advertised cost. I would not rent from Advantage again. The car was nice and the car return process was great.

Not good. Compulsory charges not disclosed until check out. 45 minute wait for shuttle bus. 30 minute wait at the facility. An agent who more than once stated “…don’t blame the messenger,” while presenting the hidden, unreasonable charges. One example: I could not use my own EZ Pass without incurring a $55 fee. I was also “steered” to other unnecessary or redundant add-ons I would have ended up paying had I not insisted otherwise. The car smelled stale and could have been cleaner.

I did not rent the car because there was only one person at the counter and ten people in line. I Ubered to my destination. You will continue to lose money to Uber if you understaff the counter.

No issues with the customer service but I drove off with a vehicle that needed attention. I had a nail in my tire which I have reason to suspect was an issue before I received the vehicle. Also, the battery was on its final leg as it died on me right before I was scheduled for my flight. I almost missed my flight! Again, staff was friendly and eager to resolve my issue. Due to the time constraints I had to resolve all issues on my own causing a high degree of stress.
The windshield was extremely dirty and both side mirrors dirty. Nobody takes the time to explain any of the vehicle features . Remember not All vehicles are not the same. Your office at the drop off on Marco island was excellent. The Orlando airport pickup location needs to be reminded of these things.

The travel service we used had a pickup that was half an hour from the airport, so we popped into the Enterprise office at the airport and the two VERY NICE people in the office made it happen - we were able to pick up and drop off at the airport and not have to uber from place to place. What a relief!!! Thank you ENTERPRISE!!!!
