Absolutely awful. Reservation wasn't able to be moved from downtown Philadelphia to the airport location. The downtown location closed at 4 but our flight was delayed so we were unable to get there on time. Guy at the desk at the airport hertz straight up told us he can't help us. Didn't attempt anything. Ended up paying TWENTY NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a reservation I made that was supposed to be $900. Dumpster fire of a situation and won't be using kayak for this ever again. Nor Hertz for that matter. Get bent.

I got to the pick up location and was told that they didn't have any cars. There was no email or call letting me know in advance that my rental couldn't be provided. The woman at the counter told me that the "insurance company" came and took all the cars, whatever that means, so I had to rent a car from another company.

My experience was horrible because my car shut off and wouldn’t start. It had to get towed back to hertz.
Vehicle had not been cleaned after the previous rental. They ran out of cars and gave me an uncomfortable to ride in truck. I returned the vehicle with a full tank (also noted on the return invoice) and they still charged me a $17.99 refueling charge. I called customer service and asked for a refund of the refueling charge which they promptly credited to my account. The customer service representative volunteered that their system is set up to automatically add this fee for rentals driven less than 75 miles. That’s not in the rental agreement. Lower price than competitors, but annoying experience.

The rental office turned away multiple people with reservations because they had no cars! We got lucky and got the 1 car that was delivered. Poor communications: I asked to modify the reservation for a later return but they didn’t and charged me a late fee on top of extra hours. Never emailed or gave me a receipt. But the car we got was in fine condition, no problems.

The rental address was far from the airport, they don’t have available shuttle service, except you have to call for a pickup from there office, they charge extra payment in addition to the payment I made online

There was nobody at my airport drop off just signed reminding customers to leave the keys in the car! I am still wondering if my drop off is confirmed. It has been over 24 hours since I dropped off the rental car and my credit card has a pending charge that is double my original booking price. If Orlando airport kiosk doesn’t staff anybody at the airport, maybe they shouldn’t advertise a 24 hour facility to help lessen confusions like the one I am wondering right now

This was the worst rental car experience I've ever had.2.5 hours at the agency to pick up a car that I preordered online. Building was not air conditioned, no process followed, 2 agents with over 20 people in line, no one to bring cars or demonstrate basic use, cars just left running in the lot, no one to answer questions, wrong car was given. Never use thrifty at Philadelphia airport again!

The online booking process was horrible. The onsite agency was short staffed, rude and took 2+ hours to release a pre booked car. The site had no air conditioning and I was 30th inline on arrival. There was no one to demonstrate the car electronics and contols including GPS, radio, windshield wipers and flashers. No one told me my rental car was ready, it was left running in the parking lot for 30 minutes while I stood outside waiting for it to arrive.

Never again - is the only rental company that does require you.to see 2 ID incl passport, does a soft credit check, wanted to see my incoming and departing flight Information and so on Words then the immigration authorities just to grt a car - thanks bit others like Budget are much easier and customer friendly

We waited in line 2 hours to get to an agent. Then waited another 20 minutes to get the car. I paid for it in advance, but there was no honoring the reservations we have first. I’ve never seen anything like this- truly unreal.

After confirming the rental/putting through the payment, the price was "adjusted" to add $40. When I got to pick up the car, it turns out the cost had actually doubled from $200 to $400ish, with an additional $200 charge that would be refunded. So I had to hand over 3x as much money as they said I would. Obviously, I didn't have a choice. Felt like highway robbery. Disgusting.
Pick up service was the best I’ve ever had. We’ve never used Alamo before. We will now always use Alamo

I didn’t get the car and they said they’ll cancel the booking and I get refund which never happened. Hate kayak and Alamo
The key stopped working the night before we were supposed to return it car cannot be locked unlocked or started other than to auxiliary power definitely threw a wrench in our plans and a little bit of stress as we had a 6 AM flight the next day luckily roadside assistance was able to deliver us a new car at 11 that night.

The initial phone reservation contact was confusing to me and that I felt kind of boxed in to renting a “luxury “card which I actually did not want because I was going to be down at the shore for two weeks out of that months rental and that did not feel appropriate for me. Apparently after another follow-up phone call to see if I could actually reserve a more practical car for me like Honda or Toyota, I was told basically that I had to wait until I arrived to change that which I found odd. However, I could not have asked for a better experience at the Philadelphia national car rental location. The on site manager who’s name unfortunately I have forgotten and the attendant were exemplary with me. They made me feel that they would accommodate my request without any hesitation. The staff there could not have been better !

I had a choice of full sizes cars, but wasn't familiar with the models. The Nissan I chose was not the most comfortable seat for me, but the others didn't complain.
I rented a pickup truck to move some auto body parts, I was expecting what was pictured, a 2 door long bed pickup, got to PHL and I was presented with a 4 door with a 57" bed, not 8 or 6 ft. Of course the people at the counter couldn't do anything for me, not their job. They were nice but didn't have any choice in what I got. With creative loading, packed like a sardine can with the tailgate down I did squeeze it in. A full size bed would have been nice,
