Awesome staff, very helpful. I didn't catch names but I had a freakout because I didn't read the website copy carefully and missed the 200 deposit, but the guy at the desk was funny, cool, and patient. For a first time car renter, this place was a breeze.

not enough service people at pick up counter in Richmond, even at peak hours.. had to wait 40 min for pickup drop off was very confusing at BWI.. had to just leave the car in a huge return area.. there was no attendant.. did not like the experience

Most comically bad operation I have ever seen. Took me 70 minutes to simply retrieve my car reservation, during which I saw the two rudest and most incompetent employees struggle to complete basic tasks while demeaning customers in front of me the whole time. The continued existence of this location makes me want to short Avis Budget stock.

Unpleasant experience. Reserved vehicle a couple of hours prior to pickup. Vehicle already gone on arrival. No “sorry for the inconvenience” only a rude manager who, with a condescending tone, informed us that we should have reserved it the day prior and implied it was our problem for having gone through a third party software. They had a vehicle at the next level at a higher price. We could take it or leave it. Budget wasn’t going to honor original price already paid. Also told we would lose insurance also purchased through Kayak if we walked away. Ended up paying more for the vehicle (versus spending 1-2 hours making alternative arrangements). Car was fine but very unhappy with Budget. Will avoid them in the future.

The van smelled like cigarette smoke when I first opened the door. Staff immediately sprayed the car and discounted gas requirements to compensate. Van ran great. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

It was fine. Enterprise was the car rental of Travelers Insurance. We did not have a choice. It turned out to be fine. Pickup and Dropoff went very smoothly. The SUV was basic, but drove easily. No problems.

Customer service was excellent during the pickup and drop off the car. Great employees!! Will just rent from your company for our family getaway weekends.
Very happy with the price for a van. We were helping someone move and the agent put the seats down for us in a Chevy Pacifica. That made it perfect for stowing all her stuff. The van was easy to drive and used very little gas. The agent was friendly.

Ease of picking up the car was nice but I did not like how it was not explained to me during pickup about gas, allowed mileage etc. I also found the car to be overpriced for what it was. It wasn’t a bad or good experience, just “okay” overall.

I will not be renting from Avis again at least at this location as I waited 4 hours to pick up my vehicle. If anything I'd like a half of refund for the cost of the rental for that horrible experience. There's no reason then you had such a few staff members on with so many people in line to pick up vehicles

This was our worst experience -ever - with rental cars. We had a confirmed reservation before leaving Chicago for a 9 day trip to Boston, Washington DC, and Richmond VA. We only need the car for our Richmond leg of the trip. As we were in the Amtrak train station awaiting our train to Richmond, we received a text message informing us that our car reservation was cancelled because they didn’t have any cars available (supposedly because of some “accident”). We tried contacting Avis for a further explanation and possible alternative options. No luck! Our hotel reservation in Richmond was in a location that made trying to get around by walking impossible. We were there to visit our grandson who is attending the University of Richmond.. we were in Richmond fo 3 nights. We were able to use Lyft to get from our hotel to the school, but we wanted to do more in the way of sightseeing and visit colonial Williamsburg. We also needed a car for transport from our hotel to the airport for our return flight to Chicago and luggage storage between hotel checkout (11 am) and departure time (5 pm). So, all in all, Avis’s last minute cancellation of our confirmed reservation was nerve-racking and terribly distressing for us.

1st of all, dollar was not even open and we had to check out with Hertz. Secondly, they didn't have the kind of car that I reserved, so I ended up paying an extra $100, plus fees which came to an additional $200 above what I had already paid and reserved. Thirdly, the car was in need of servicing, and they said they didn't have another car to give me so I had to drive it around with the oil light flashing on the entire time. Because of this, we did not feel safe going to Shenandoah Park, which was supposed to be a major part of our trip. I will never rent from Dollar again.

They gave me a car that had broken down the day before, without properly fixing it. So I experienced transmission problems while on a bridge with no where to pull over, which put us in danger. The only reason I know that the car had previous transmission problems because we somehow got assigned the same tow truck driver who recognized the vehicle from the day before. Dollar was seriously negligent. I will never be renting from Dollar or their parent company Hertz ever again because I cannot support a company who willfully puts their customers in danger.
Never received my security deposit back or notice of a reason why.
